Crafty Woman This Weekend

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........

I have been super busy getting several crafts done.

A bit of background. I love making and putting wreaths on my front door. A few I have bought and a few I have made. I'm trying make enough to be able to cover most if not all holidays/season/themes.
1st - Seashell Wreath for my front door! This will be my summer wreath

So there it is. I bought the grapevine wreath at the local craft store and then came home with the shells and started hot gluing them to the wreath. I did buy the bow as well, so that was my finishing touch on the wreath!!!! I like it!!

Leave me a comment I'd love to hear what you think!!! :O)

painting & vinyl

So this weekend it was kinda rainy here and I decided to try something new! I went to the craft store and bought some canvas for painting and 2 colors of acrylic paint. Saturday was rainy outside and I decided to paint in the garage.

I started out with a color called "pool blue" and then a second color called "carribean" - here's what it started to look like:

Sure the pool blue is the complete background, but I decided to make the caribbean color random on the canvas. I waited overnight to be sure it was completely dry and then headed over to see my cricut! I decided that black would be a great color contrast on this so here's what I did:
Here is a better picture of the completed painting:

You can see the 2 different colors better. I cut the star from the cricut and then I used a star punch to make the little starts in the corner. I punched the black bigger than the blue in order to layer it.

I also did this on my sewing machine case:

sewing...

Alright so I got my machine all out of the box and looked over and I have been so excited. i started watching the DVD to learn how to thread a bobbin as well as thread the machine. Well yesterday I went to Joanne's Fabrics and I was able to walk around and take a look what all they had. I needed some thread I didn't have any at all. LOL Found out when I thought I'd be able to thread the machine last weekend. Anyway, I asked if they sold left over parts of material as I am brand new to sewing and I wanted to practice. Sure enough they had a section called "Fabric Remnants" I was more than pleased to say the lease.

So I cut a small portion off the fabric I bought and made my first sewing...

I guess now I need to start finding some patters of things to make. I want to try a valance.
